Annual City Tree Lighting Ceremony - December 6th, 6:30 p.m. 
Get into the holiday spirit by joining us for the City's Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 6, 2025 at Franklin City Hall! Ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. Music, free cookies and hot chocolate will be served during the event! SANTA is expected to arrive at 7 p.m. with the lighting of the tree taking place at 7:15 p.m. See you there!
Temporary Relocation of Fire Department Administrative Offices
Due to a construction project taking place at Franklin Fire Department Station No. 1 on W. Drexel Avenue, the fire department administrative offices are temporarily relocated to Fire Station No. 2 at 9911 S. 60th Street. Public phone numbers for the fire department remain unchanged.
2026 Mayor's Recommended Budget
The 2026 Mayor's Recommended Budget was presented to the Common Council at their September 16, 2025 meeting where it was forwarded to the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee reviewed the 2026 Mayor's Recommended Budget during four planned meetings on September 23, September 25, September 29, and October 1, 2025, and submit their recommended changes to the Common Council at their October 7, 2025 meeting. A public hearing and final adoption of the 2026 Mayor's Recommended Budget took place at the November 11, 2025 Special Common Council Meeting. View the 2026 Mayor's Recommended Budget.
Economic Development Update: 2023-Mid-2025
The city’s Economic Development team, city staff, and elected officials have been strong partners in attracting new development to Franklin and helping existing companies expand. Residential Brush Drop-Off & Recycling Center
The Residential Brush Drop-Off & Recycling Center Yard, located adjacent to the Public Works Garage at 7979 W. Ryan Road, is CLOSED. This includes the gated area for brush drop-off, recycling drop-off, and used motor oil, antifreeze, and oil filters. Please continue to use the Waste Management Metro Landfill for brush and recycling disposal and the Milwaukee County Hazardous Waste Facility for used oil/oil filters and used antifreeze disposal.
